We also build quality social housing within the private sector and are NHBC & BLP registered builders. Furthermore we construct individual developments to customer specification.
Archindown Homes has won environmental assessment awards through the building research establishments eco-homes project.
We are approved secured by design developers, all our sites are registered to the considerate constructors scheme.

         Graham Cawte
Graham joined the Royal Mail in 1980 as a counter clerk, rising to Senior Operations Manager in 1996 to present date. Graham's varied skills include project management, budget forecasting, operational man management, manpower planning, diversity and health and safety management.


       Phil Sellwood
Phil started his career a Vosper Thornycroft shipbuilders in 1973 as a ships joiner on a four year apprenticeship. This was followed by a few years working in Holland building luxury yachts, leading to specialist construction of timber framed houses throughout europe.

Phil came back to England in 1987 and took up the position of carpenter at a local company.

In 1991 Phil joined a national house building company as the mian carpentry sub-contractor on a 700 unit site. Wilcon Homes became his next destination in 1995 where he took up the position of site manager. 1998 was the year he started his own company, namely Sellwood Building & Construction. A year later he went into partnership forming Whitewood Developments (a property development company).

       Janet Cawte
Janet worked for IBM as a graduate researcher studying small business enterprise working in a team producing literature & giving presentations at various organisations. Since 1999 Janet has as a social researcher for a charitable organisation, specialising in Government & Academic issues. The many varied skills needed for this job include team leading, project management & specialised interviewing skills.

Janet's Qualifications
 - BA (Hons) Psychology
 - Diploma in Personal Management
 - MSc in Health Psychology

Janet is currently studying part-time for a Doctorate.


The diverse skills and experience of the three directors complement each other to form an efficient & dynamic team.
